Fourth of July

What a beautiful weekend we had to celebrate America's birthday.

The weather was perfect,
the food was amazing,
and we all had a blast!

The festivities started on Friday
with a trip to the Columbus Zoo
(which is absolutely amazing)

Then the weekend continued, full of
yummy food,
swimming,

watermelon eating,

nonstop popsicles,

hanging outside
enjoying the sun,

and all the LAUGHTER!

Even the cat joined us.

Our small town didn't have fireworks until late Monday night,
and after a full day at the waterpark,
we were all worn out.

so we watched the spectacular show
from Aiden's upstairs bedroom window
which provided the perfect country view.

and one of the best parts about the whole weekend,
was watching Aiden in complete awe,
with looks of pure excitement, as he pointed to his ear
each time he heard a distant "BOOM",

and how he watched the sky light up with colors,
then look at us and exclaim,
"WOW!"

Fireworks are so much better with kids around. The Columbus Zoo is on my list of things to do, I've heard it's great.

Oh, what a fun weekend! I agree- fireworks are MUCH better with kids. Watching their open-mouthed wonder at the sparkles in the sky is just about the best thing on the planet!

I love the Columbus Zoo! Jack Hanna definitely knows how to do it right! I love Aiden pictures... they kids definitely looked like they had a great time. Lucas also saw his first fireworks. The expression on his face was *priceless*.

Wow! I love that he could HEAR those far away, low BOOMS!

Looks like a just perfect day :D
